Our Story

Timpani Software was founded by Kevin Dietz in 2001. The company was originally focused on providing value-added reseller services for the TeamTrack product line. TeamTrack is a market-leading defect tracking system originally produced by TeamShare, which Mr. Dietz also founded in 1996. In 2003, TeamShare was acquired by Serena Software. The TeamTrack product line continues to be marketed and sold by Serena.

After selling TeamShare to Serena, Mr. Dietz decided to seek out new challenges in the emerging area of agile software development tools and methodologies. Mr. Dietz looked at several opportunities within the application lifecycle management market, with an eye towards how these tools would be affected by a software development community that was adopting or transitiong to agile software development practices in increasing numbers.

Today, Timpani Software develops and markets BuildBeat, and advanced build management system that offers support for continuous integration, cross-platform building, automated logging and error handling, live build monitoring, web-based reporting, and an easy-to-use visual administration interface. More information on BuildBeat can be found at http://www.buildbeat.com.

In addition to the BuildBeat product, Timpani Software offers consulting services to software development teams that are interested in gaining better control over their software processes and transitioning to agile software development practices. More information about Timpani's services can be found here.

We're excited about the road ahead for application lifecycle management.
