BuildBeat 2007.R2 Supports E-Mail Notification
and Integrated Template Formatting Timpani Software has enhanced its flagship product, BuildBeat, with the release of BuildBeat 2007.R2. Timpani Software today announced the general availability of BuildBeat 2007.R2. The latest release of BuildBeat now includes the ability to notify members of the development team of build status results, via e-mail. BuildBeat supports all SMTP servers, the defacto standard for sending e-mail on the Internet. In support of the e-mail integration features, BuildBeat also now includes a greatly expanded edition of its integrated macro expansion capabilities. Now called BuildBeat Macro Language, or BBML, the integrated templating system works seamless with all aspects of the product to access internal BuildBeat object data and format data in highly valuable ways. When used in conjunction with the e-mail integration features, BBML gives unlimited flexibility in formatting the build results as they are sent to users via e-mail. BuildBeat ships with several sample BBML template files that can be used as-is, or modified to suit the needs of the team. The sample template files illustrate the use of BBML in great detail, and give real-world, practical applications that include features such as embedding colorful icons to indicate build and test results, and expandable/collapsible regions using HTML and JavaScript that make it easy for the receiver to easily navigate through a large amount of build details. # # #
